Former Indians Pitcher Jason Stanford joins ESPN 1570

ESPN 1570 and ESPNMahonnigValley.com is proud to announce the addition of Former Major League Baseball starting pitcher for the Cleveland Indians Jason Stanford as a Strategic Partner and Show Host.

In his role with ESPN 1570, Jason will provide Spring Training Reports from Florida and have the latest info from Arizona on the Cactus League action.

“Getting to know Jason over the years, we have been looking for a way to work together and now we have finally been able to put it all together,” according to Todd Bartley, General Manager of ESPN 1570.

Bartley added, “To be able to add the wealth of knowledge Jason possesses to our team can only benefit our enterprise and we are really pleased to be able to leverage his expertise to drive the growth at ESPN 1570.”

Jason Stanford offered his thoughts on the opportunity; “I’m very excited to join a well established network like ESPN 1570 and help grow our amateur sports in the valley on air.”

There are tremendous synergies that will be realized with this move and dedication to the student athlete on and off the field.

Stanford is currently the pitching coach for the Danville Braves (Atlanta Braves) in the Appalachian League.

Previously Stanford served as the Pitching Coach of the West Virginia Black Bears (Pirates) of the New York-Penn League.

He owns Stanford Baseball Academy and SBA Aces Non-Profit baseball program and is the owner of Strikeout Strippz by Perfect Throw USA.

Strike Out Strippz is a uniquely designed throwing glove for all baseball and softball players ranging from youth league to professional players that can be used anywhere, anytime, indoors or out, without a catcher or a ball, thanks to a pair of specially engineered strips attached to a training glove.

As a player, Stanford was a member of 1994 CDO State Championship team. Attended Barton County Community College in Great Bend, Kansas (1996-1997) achieving Academic All-American status.

Then he attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (1998-1999) garnering All-Conference USA selection both years. Winning 14 consecutive straight Conference USA games for the 49ers.

Stanford began his rise to the big leagues as a Non-Drafted free agent, signing with Cleveland Indians in November of 1999.

While in the Indians farm system he was named the Bob Feller Minor League Pitcher of the Year in (2000).

The call to the majors came in his major league debut with the Indians in 2003 against the Minnesota Twins.

Stanford picked up his first Major League win against the Toronto Blue Jays.

With the success on the mound, Stanford became a member of TEAM USA in 2001 and 2003. Winning the Silver Medal and Best World Pitcher 2001 in World Cup play.

Played 8 straight professional seasons for the Buffalo Bisons (AAA Club for Indians starting 2001).

After his playing days concluded he easily transitioned to the television booth, in 2009, joining SportsTime Ohio and WKYC (NBC) for Cleveland Indians broadcasts.

In 2011 he began working as the Indians Pre-game and Post-game Analyst with STO.

In 2013 he started working for Fox Sports Ohio continuing as the Pre-game and Post-game Analyst.
